THE
BUILD

OK, so you haven't built anything since you spent hours building that crooked little birdhouse back in cub or girl scouts.....and that was a year or three ago.

We get that.

Here at Open Range, we understand that not everybody has the tools, space, know-how, expertise or time to build their own square drop or expedition style trailer. We also understand that most folks don't want to spend in excess of $20K USD to buy one off the shelf. So what's a guy or gal to do?

YOU BUILD YOUR OWN ADVENTURE, that's what!

By building your own you not only get the satisfaction of building your own camper, but you can literally save thousands of dollars over buying a production model.

yes, save thousands.

Our kits usually cost about half of what similar production model campers cost, and you can get started assembling within a few weeks from ordering.

And if you're worried about the quality of the finished product, don't be. Our cabs are are built using the same construction techniques and materials used in both the marine and aircraft industries. We use NO mechanical fasteners (screws/nails) that can waller out over time. No polyurethane based construction adhesives to degrade, chip or shrink. No leaky seams. All of the seams in our kits are filleted and taped with fiberglass and marine grade epoxy (never polyester), making them much stronger than the plywood (see video). All external surfaces are encased in two coats of marine epoxy which makes the wood impervious to weather, moisture and rot, while at the same time making it lighter and stronger than a steel framed aluminum sheathed trailer built using traditional construction techniques. We're so confident in the quality of our builds that each cab comes with a lifetime warranty against any kind of rot or structural failure due to faulty materials or workmanship.

To try and match every builder's skill level, abilities and schedules, we've developed three different kit styles to help meet your needs, the RAW KIT, the NEKKID KIT and the DRESSED KIT. The cabs on both the NEKKID and DRESSED kits come pre built using the same parts, materials and build techniques.....the main difference between the two is the degree to which the cabs have been pre-completed when the builder receives them. As the builder, you just decide how much finish work you're comfortable doing on your own.

The RAW KIT is delivered in raw form, meaning it's fully assembled but needs to be finished out. The RAW KIT is perfect for the builder who enjoys working with their hands and wants to finish out or customize their build exactly like they want. It's also a great choice for someone who is working on a limited budget and doesn't mind doing the finish work themselves in order to save some cash.

The NEKKID KIT is delivered "nekkid", meaning it's fully assembled but needs to be finished out. The DRESSED KIT is the way to go if the builder has a little more to spend and wants to get outdoors as quickly as possible. It's also a good choice for folks that may be a little uncomfortable building their own. The DRESSED KIT can still be customized by the builder, but most of the finish work is already complete when delivered.

From finishing out a cab that comes "nekkid", to a fully pre-built cab and frame where all you have to do is tighten a few bolts and clip your wiring harness together, we've got you covered.

It's REALLY THAT SIMPLE

Marine epoxy = 6402 psi
